Automobili Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Tecnica super sports coupe in India at Rs 4.04 crore (ex-showroom). The Tecnica is powered by the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 from the track-oriented STO which produces 640bhp that can launch this car from 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds. The car sits between the EVO and the STO, as a road-use but track-capable machine.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, said, “Bringing new models faster to local market has been a key pillar for our growth in India and we are excited to unveil the Huracán Tecnica in India today. The lightweight Tecnica’s recalibrated LDVI system and distinctly tuned driving modes with specific suspension set-up, rear-wheel direct steering, and innovative brake cooling improvements allow the driver to experience the perfect Huracán for every occasion. We are delighted to bring the Tecnica, an emotionally versatile super sports for road and track to our clients and enthusiasts in India.”

Externally, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is an evolution of the Huracan design that we have seen over the years. The nose has a different design owing to the open lower grille, which now features a large air intake and splitter that aids aerodynamics and incorporates an air curtain for the first time in a Huracan. The car is 6.1cm longer than the EVO. The rear has a new glass window, which improves visibility and new hexagonal exhaust pipes. The fixed rear wing adds 35 per cent more downforce as compared to the EVO. The underbody too gets aero deflectors which aid aerodynamic efficiency. It rides on 20-inch Damiso diamond cut alloy wheels and is shod with Bridgestone Potenza Sport rubber.

The cabin of the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica has a similar layout, with the surfaces clad in carbon fibre and alcantara. Features include height adjustable sports seats, digital instrument panel, infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. There are many optionals available such as lightweight doors, rear arch and wheel bolts in titanium and harness seat belts. Lamborghini’s Ad Personam department offers virtually unlimited colour and trim options for a customer to spec their car with.

The heart of the Tecnica is the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 which produces 640bhp and 565Nm of torque which comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for seamless gear changes. With a dry weight of 1,379kgs the car can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.2 seconds, from 0 to 200kmph in 9.1 seconds and up to a top speed of 325kmph. Engineers have tuned the engine to provide a powerful engine noise that enters the cockpit for an immersive experience. The Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) system adjusts every aspect of the car by integrating vehicle systems and providing top-notch performance whenever required.

What makes the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica special is that it is the last car from the iconic Italian brand to be powered by the V10 motor as further models will have some form of electrical assistance. The first hybrid model from Lamborghini will be revealed next year. The Huracan Tecnica is priced at Rs 4.04 crore, which means its costlier than the Huracan EVO which is priced at Rs 3.22 crore but cheaper to the Huracan STO which is priced at Rs 4.99 crore. (all prices ex-showroom)
